ELIX, a Greek NGOs with a 30years experience in organizing similar activities both domestically and abroad, launces new projects specifically for grown up travelers, who wish to visit Greece and combine their leisure time with community service and self-growth activities. Groups of 10 grown-ups will contribute to a specific community service project, participate in structured activities and workshops for well-being and self-growth, develop bonds with other participants from all over the world, and enjoy a meaningful experience.
PROJECT OLYMPIA: Get to know the historical heritage of Ancient Olympia
Immerse your spirit in the history of the birthplace of the Olympic Games, the most celebrated sanctuary of ancient Greece, Olympia. Situated in the beautiful valley of the Alpheus river, Olympia offers its rich history and cultural heritage to the visitor who will explore its important and famous archaeological treasures.
From 5th to 13th June 2020.
You will stay
In a hotel in the town of Olympia, in single or double bed rooms, near the sacred site of the Olympic Games. Breakfast and lunch are offered, as well as group activities.
You will contribute
Offering your time and gardening skills to the local Botanical Garden is not only valuable as a contribution, it is not an end in itself, but a means for developing a team spirit with members of the group, for acquiring new skills, for discovering and sharing your potential, while exercising and awakening your body.
You will enjoy
A pilgrimage to Ancient Olympia’s archeological site is an immersion in the spirit of the Olympic Games. Guided tours and time-travelling adventures through history, as well as visits to the Museum will be a life experience. Group activities and workshops like art, games, yoga in nature, empowerment exercises and meetings, walks by the Kladeos river and excursions to the sea, will help foster socialization among the group, a comparable advantage of these projects.
Cost
The cost for the Olympia project is 850 € and includes accommodation in double rooms and single rooms, breakfast and lunch. It is also includes accident insurance and participation in all the activities, visits, excursions, workshops. Travel costs are not included.
PROJECT TINOS: Enjoy the traditional Cycladic island of Tinos
Experience the beauty of a Greek island, enjoy the nature and the inspiring landscapes of Tinos, where you can walk through ancient footpaths while discovering Greece’s natural and cultural heritage. The island’s privileged location along with its advanced tourist infrastructure and special character, make it an ideal destination
for alternative holidays in the Cyclades.

You will stay
In two beautiful houses in Agios Ioannis Porto, near a shallow bay with a sandy beach, 7km away from the capital, Tinos. Each house accommodates 4 people, there is a small kitchen and a bathroom. Preparing our meals in the adjacent kitchen is a part of promoting team work and connection among participants. Through shared cooking, as well as exploring Greek recipes, you will share your culinary skills with the group.
You will contribute
The community service project in Tinos, is the repair work needed for the Roman aqueduct near the Exombourgo Hill and the Monastery of St. Eleni. The aqueduct has been in use from ancient times, until the beginning of the 20th century and the repair work will include removing invasive vegetation and brushing debris away
from the stonework.
You will enjoy
Swimming, hiking, participating in empowerment exercises and meetings, in excursions and visits, as well as group activities and workshops like art, cooking, games, yoga in the water, that will help foster socialization among the group, a comparative advantage of these projects.
Cost
The Tinos project has a fee of 850 euros, including accommodation in the two houses and full board, accident insurance and participation in all the activities, visits, workshops etc. Travel costs are not included.
