Description of the Big GREEN Weekend
Across Europe Volunteers will be working from Friday 21st October to Sunday 23rd October on projects to care for their local environment and the nature. Volunteers will be working in urban and rural areas in small and large groups on a myriad of different activities from planting trees, to building bird boxes and seed collecting to cleaning rivers and creating new habitats. All will contribute to improving the natural environment and many will have positive effects on the mitigation of climate change.
Many of the events will encourage people to have a go for the first time to see how they can do something that is positive and fun and recognize volunteers who give their time regularly.
10 European volunteering events
Similar activities will be organized on the same dates 21-23 of October in Greece, France, Romania, Holland, Italy, Estonia, Bulgaria, Iceland, Germany and United Kingdom.
