We are honoured to announce that our ELIX staff member, Tilemachos Boni, has been elected as member of the Council of Europe Advisory Council on Youth for a 2 years mandate (2020-2021).

The elections took place during the Council of Members of the European Youth Forum in April 2019 in Brussels where International Non-Governmental Youth Organisations and National Youth Councils elected their representatives to the Advisory Council.

The European Youth Forum is the widest platform of youth organisations in the world representing the voice of young people in Europe. It strives for youth rights in international institutions such as the European Union, the Council of Europe and the United Nations.

The nomination of Tilemachos received the overwhelming support of 53 member organisations, being the second most voted candidate.

Tilemachos has been representing ELIX in Executive Committee of the ALLIANCE of European Voluntary Organisations network with his main focus being external relations and advocacy and as part of that he has been nominated for this position.CoE council of europe logo

Together with other 29 youth representatives, Tilemachos will be bringing the voice of young people within the Council of Europe, supporting the development of youth related policies.

The Council of Europe provides a unique co-management system which allows representatives of youth organisations to have an equal say with representatives of the youth ministries of the Council of Europe member states.
