My name is Justyna, I'm 23 y.o. from Warsaw. I did my bachelor degree in Journalism, now I'm doing my second degree in Iberian Studies. I like listening to the music (Blur is my favourite band) and reading books (I love Haruki Murakami and good reportage books).

Coordination organization:
ELIX -Conservation Volunteers Greece is a non-governmental not-for-profit organization promoting, since 1987, voluntary service and education. ELIX main goal is the personal development of individuals as citizens of the world, through active participation. Environmental protection, cultural heritage conservation, culture promotion and social service are the main thematic fields of voluntary projects.

In the framework of the project "Lessons of Solidarity", ELIX cooperated with ELEPAP. In 2015 ELIX and ELEPAP decided to continue the cooperation in the framework of the European Voluntary Service Programme (EVS).

I had never been in a voluntary workcamp like that and, after this amazing first experience I don’t know how to explain in a few phrases every second, every laugh, everything I learned there…

In my opinion, everyone should have his own "expectations list" before one important trip. My list included improve my English, meet new people, have a new professional experience-it was my first time working with children! – and of course visit the historic city of Athens.

PARTNER
ELIX is organizing two workcamps in 2014 under the framework of -Lessons of Solidarity- Project which aims to proactively support Greek Institutions in Attica, hosting and caring for children with social problems and mental and physical disabilities. The LESSONS OF SOLIDARITY Project is part of a three year initiative funded by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (www.SNF.org) in order to assist the increasing needs such Institutions are facing in view of the socioeconomic crisis in Greece.

I would like to share with you my recent lovely experience from ELEPAP at the voluntary program of "Solidarity lessons" by ELIX. It was an amazing voluntary program which helped me improve my perception about life due to the daily fight of the children and their endless strength and courage.
