- Description of the event:
In 2013 FIYE has been organising 12 voluntary programmes for people from all over the world, each of them was led by 1 or 2 leaders that were especially trained by FIYE. The FIYE projects took place in small communities such as in rural communities and small towns such as Bieliny, Michalin, Janowice, Glaz and Pultusk.
The training was organised to prepare young citizens to support local actions in the form of international volunteer programmes. The content of the training included basic knowledge on group development and role of the leader, conflict management and intercultural learning as well as discussion on the impact of workcamps on the local community.
The participants learnt how to ensure effectiveness of the team, but also worked out ideas and methods how to involve the local community in actions organised by the participating volunteers and how to promote voluntary engagement in local communities.
As a result of the training 18 participants decided to take the challenge and lead an international programme by giving handing over their own engagement to the participating citizens of the world.
