Description of the event:

TE IS implemented a 9 days citizenship seminar that took place in Perkupa, Hungary in 22-30 May 2013.

The aim was to develop competence for young people concerning leadership. 

The seminar focused on the development of Personal and Social Competence - Skills for understanding self and having self-discipline; working with others, communicating, cooperating, negotiating, and building relationships; coping, adapting, and being responsible; and finally, making good judgments, evaluating, making decisions, and problem-solving. 

Participants got to know how to empower participants in their projects and how to implement high quality in voluntary programmes

The seminar included sessions about how to sensitize and open young people towards the neighboring countries of the EECA region and how to develop further partnerships between EU and EECA partner organizations in order to generate new projects.

The seminar build up on competencies of the participants by the methodology of non-formal education. Among the topics were also: non-formal education and supporting non-formal learning processes, intercultural learning, basics of project management, teamwork, conflict management and administrative task in voluntary projects.

 

25 participants from 6 countries attended the seminar from Armenia, Georgia, Ukraine that they represented the EECA region, while Czech Republic, Hungary and Portugal presented the programme countries of the EU. The seminar included also a session about funding possibilities by the funds of the European Union, such as Europe for Citizens and Youth in Action and an outlook to the new funding programmes in 2014.
