Sub-Action 4.3 – Training and networking

The training course HAND-PRINT Youth Work for Urban Development and Social Inclusion was realized in San Giorgio a Cremano (Na) and was 6 days long.
The participants were 16 and the countries involved were Italy, Hungary, Czech Republic, Belgium, Romania, Greece, France and Spain. Themes of the project were the use of art and in particular of the street art as operative tool to promote the social inclusion of youth with fewer opportunities, coming from the outskirts of big European cities and to promote new measures to redevelop urban areas and suburbs.

The aim of the project was to share with youth workers and peer educators new working methods based on art and voluntarism to involve youngsters coming from suburbs, at higher risk of social exclusion and marginalization.During the implementation, the following activities were realized: workshops on social inclusion and street art as a channel to promote new routes of inclusion and active participation for youngsters with fewer opportunities, study visits, debates and laboratories. During the training an interactive methodology, based on the principles of non formal education, was proposed. The aim was to stimulate the active involvement of the participants, to generate a permanent sharing and to facilitate the mutual exchange of experiences and knowledge following a peer to peer approach.
