The mission of IBG is since its foundation in 1965 the promotion of peace and intercultural understanding though international volunteering and international exchange. The main target group are young people from 16 to 30 years.
IBG gives a special attention on the accessibility of projects for everybody not depending of social and educational background, special needs etc.
International workcamps are the most important activities of IBG. Every year 30 – 40 local communities in Germany host an IBG workcamp with volunteers from all over the world. The local dimension of these projects has a very high value for IBG. This is combined with the promoting of volunteering and active citizenship on a local and European level.
IBG offers a high variety for international volunteering in most European countries.
IBG has a small team of four staff members in the office in Stuttgart. In the organization and running of the IBG activities they are supported by approx. 80 active volunteers.
