ELIX launched in September 2020 a new non-formal education project for the 3,000 children, refugees and migrants who were transferred to the new RIC of Lesvos.
The programme "Non-formal education support to refugee and migrant children displaced in the new Lesvos RIC" was designed as an emergency response to the new conditions created by the catastrophic fires in the RIC of Moria.
This project is based on the content and methodology of our programme "Learning for Integration: Quality learning and non-formal education for children and adults, refugees and migrants in Greece" that we have been implementing in cycles since 2016.
In the framework of this project, we will also distribute self-teaching educational material to 1,500 parents to help their children integrate into the school, as well as we will offer teachers’ training for those coming from the refugee and migrant communities, wth the aim of strengthening their role for the future.
The program is provided with the support and funding of UNICEF.
