Every year ELIX organizes several voluntary work projects (Workcamps) of short, medium and long duration in Greece, aiming to protect the environment, to preserve cultural heritage and to promote social justice and cohesion.
This summer, 4 projects will take place through 10 short term workcamps (2 weeks duration) scattered in Greece:

“This Summer is Ours” project aims to support children and young people with disabilities, by providing them the opportunity to spend a quality summer time through creative activities.
In 2019, ELIX organizes two workcamps in Elefsina and two others in Thelassoniki .
SUMMERWINE
#Agriculture #CulturalHeritage
Wine making goes back to ancient time in Nemea area (before 1000 BC.) but it still is the largest wine producing area of Greece. The “Summerwine in Nemea” project aims to support the age-old activity of grape harvesting.
In 2019, ELIX organizes two workcamps in Nemea.
SUSTAINABLE PATHS

The Municipality of Thermo has a network of ancient foothpaths spreading in the mountain village of Amvrakia, used widely by locals, tourists as well as hikers. The “Sustainable paths” project aims at supporting the building to new paths and preserving the environment in order to enhance local sustainability.
In 2019, ELIX organizes two workcamps in Amvrakia.

The workcamps “Summer in the City” aim to support families that encounter difficulties, by providing their children the opportunity to spend a quality summer time at school through creative activities.
