Από την Βίκυ και την Βάσω...

Έχοντας ήδη λάβει συμμετοχή σε άλλα εθελοντικά προγράμματα της ΕΛΙΞ, αποφάσισα να συμμετάσχω αυτή τη φορά σε ένα εκπαιδευτικό σεμινάριο με θέμα "Let's share tools for sustainable consumption".
Για μια εβδομάδα 15 νέοι από Ελλάδα, Σερβία, Ιταλία και Γαλλία, μαζί με 4 αρχηγούς συναντηθήκαμε σε μια περιοχή κοντά στο Μπορντό της Γαλλίας για να συζητήσουμε για τη βιώσιμη ανάπτυξη.
Αποδείχθηκε από τις καλύτερες εμπειρίες της ζωής μου ξεπερνώντας τις αρχικές μου προσδοκίες. Ζούσαμε σε ένα κάμπινγκ στο Saint Caprais και κάθε μέρα κάναμε δραστηριότητες σχετικά με τη διατροφή, τις μεταφορές, την ανακύκλωση, τους φυσικούς πόρους κλπ. Με δραστηριότητες στα πλαίσια της άτυπης εκπαίδευσης είχαμε την ευκαιρία να ανταλλάξουμε απόψεις, να γνωρίσουμε τις συνθήκες στις εκάστοτε χώρες αλλά και να συζητήσουμε για την κατάσταση σχετικά με την κατανάλωση και την ανάπτυξη διεθνώς.
Παράλληλα, είχαμε τη δυνατότητα μαζί με τη βοήθεια των αρχηγών να φτιάξουμε εμείς οι ίδιοι δραστηριότητες και εργαλεία τα οποία μπορούν να χρησιμοποιηθούν σε παιδιά και νέους για την ευαισθητοποίησή τους στο συγκεκριμένο θέμα. Μάλιστα, μας δόθηκε η δυνατότητα να ελέγξουμε κάποιες από τις δραστηριότητες- παιχνίδια που φτιάξαμε σε παιδιά ηλικίας 12 ετών που βρίσκονταν στο ίδιο κάμπινγκ με εμάς.
Τέλος, στόχος του προγράμματος ήταν να δημιουργήσουμε ένα εγχειρίδιο στο οποίο συγκεντρώναμε όλες τις δραστηριότητες, αλλά και ένα ημερολόγιο στο οποίο καταγράφαμε το πως κυλούσε κάθε μέρα, τα οποία μπορούν να χρησιμοποιηθούν από άλλες οργανώσεις ή και στα πλαίσια της τυπικής εκπαίδευσης.
Το καλύτερο κομμάτι της μέρας ήταν λίγο πριν το βραδινό, καθώς είχαμε τη δυνατότητα σε μικρότερες ομάδες να κάνουμε απολογισμό της μέρας και να συζητήσουμε για τα αισθήματά μας και την καθημερινή μας εμπειρία. Κατάλαβα πως μέσα από τέτοια σεμινάρια σου δίνεται η δυνατότητα να εμβαθύνεις σε ένα θέμα και να το προσεγγίσεις με διαφορετικούς τρόπους, αλλά το κυριότερο να μάθεις πράγματα για τον εαυτό σου.
Μέσα από τις εκάστοτε δραστηριότητες, μέσα από τη συμβίωση σου με άλλους και μέσα από τη γνωριμία σου με άλλους ενδιαφέροντες και διαφορετικούς ανθρώπους από άλλες χώρες και πολιτισμούς αναθεωρείς τον τρόπο που σκέφτεσαι. Νέες γνωριμίες, νέες φιλίες, νέες εμπειρίες.
Σίγουρα θα συνεχίσω να λαμβάνω συμμετοχή σε τέτοια προγράμματα και συστήνω ανεπιφύλακτα στον καθένα να το τολμήσει!
Hi! I am Vaso and I was one of the greek participants that represented ELIX in the training course organized by the French organization CONCORDIA held in Fargues Saint Hilaire, a small village in the province of Bordeaux, France.
The aims of the project were to learn, transmit and share knowledge about sustainable consumption, to experiment and get involved in the transmission of sustainable consumption by creating tools and activities, to question ourselves on our practices, methods and associated values as youth workers.
The trainers of the project were Marie Visse, Dorothée Saucourt, Yohann Vancassel from France and Vladimir Novakovic from Serbia.
Most of the sessions were interactive, either by playing games and discussing about problems and solutions, or by taking roles of countries and persons and sharing methods and experiences.
Creativity, sense of initiative, entrepreneurship and youth employability were and still are very important for our personal development in this training and as a way of life.
The participants had the chance to work in groups in order to complete some projects such as simulation games and discussing about relative problems and solutions. Also, all the participants were in charge of having the place cleaned up, tasty dinners, a beautiful tour in Bordeaux, interesting presentations and much more and as a result this made all of us work hard and experience something new. The whole thing was an amazing experience.
The countries participating in the project were: Italy, Serbia, Germany, France and Greece. There was also an EVS volunteer from Sweden. So, this was a great opportunity to interact and work with people from all over Europe and share ideas, cultures, music and experiences.
The schedules were busy and as the days passed the results were getting better. Participants had the chance to meet three volunteers, Victor from Sweden, Seb from France and Mara from Greece, that shared their experiences with us and also some locals, active in sustainable consuption, and other volunteers who were contributing to the local community. One of the locals was Sebastien Buhr, a person with passion and tenacity to what he believes. He described how his life is wonderful by spending most of his time working with the children, teaching them, sharing with them his stories and showing them a better way of life by playing and doing other interesting activities in this wonderfull place called Domaine de la Frayse.
CONCORDIA, the organization that was running the program, focuses on volunteer projects, reflecting in the activities proposed, which are very broad but all colored by the intercultural context. Themes may include: EVS (hosting and sending organisation), training (intercultural, leadership in workcamps, technical), workcamps by local initiative, international workcamps or integration projects (with the support of the “tools for life”, here after), implementation of local activities in the community life (i.e. fair trade, forums, debate evenings / projections of films in towns etc.) but out of all these, working on integrating all publics is particularly important.
All the above are just a few examples of what I saw, lived, learned, felt and experienced. The training course, this week, was great as the project was well-run and well-organized. The hospitality at CONCORDIA's place, that warm environment and the locals were remarkable and our trainers were excellent.
Participating in projects and training like this one is a priceless and an once-in-a-lifetime experience that evolves you as a person and as a part of the world.
