My name is Ioanna, this year I applied for a workcamp in my favourite country Spain!!

The workcamp took place in the Moclin of Granada, Andalusia.

It was my second workcamp with ELIX and as always was a perfect experience for me!

We were living in a hostel all together, the hostel was booked only for the volunteers for these days!

We did an excavation in a cave, which was the most interesting part! We worked with many archaeologists and topographies who shared their knowledge with us!

In three parts of this cave we did excavation and in one place we separate the stones because some stones had colour from Palaeolithic maybe!

Every morning we were going to this cave with our equipment, helmets and our best smile and we were always ready to work as a team!

“In the cave we should put the bag in the rope, to give it to researchers of painting to found ceramic bones and silex,
In the cave we learn Spanish all the day
We do the hardest that we can
And cannot wait for the game”

This is the song that we were singing with the rhythm of despacito (popular Spanish song).

Everything was so organized! We were 23 participants and two camp leaders! From the first time we creating strong bonds with each other and we had a great time as a team! They always prepared something good to do even for our free time!

For example, we crossed a canyon to go from moclin to los olives.

We also went to concert in Puerto Lupe!!

In addition, we had a party and many activities with youth population of Puerto lupe!

And many many other funny activities and competitions!!

We also visit Alhambra, a palace and fortress complex located in Granada, and also a popular brand of Spanish servetha beer!

Βut always we had time for lunch break to enjoy traditional food like their souap Gazpacho! yamiii

The last day they prepared something very special for us an adventure which I will remember forever!! Climbing! You think that it is simple but not for me! It was the best!!

Unfortunately the workcamp finished! The most difficult time was to leave my helmet in the cave where we have too many funny moments to remember and the excellent teamworking that we had!

It was for sure one of the most unforgettable summer! I love them all and I can’t wait to meet them again!
