Η ΕΛΙΞ, συμμετέχει στο πλέγμα των δράσεων του προγράμματος "Young Activists for Peace - Welcome Refugees".
Μέσω του προγράμματος αυτού υλοποιούμε μια σειρά από εκπαιδευτικά σεμινάρια και συναντήσεις στις οποίες στελέχη και εθελοντές της οργάνωσής μας θα συμμετέχουν.
Σκοπός των δράσεων είναι η κατανόηση των αιτιών της δημιουργίας των προσφυγικών ροών, οι κίνδυνοι που αντιμετωπίζουν τα θύματα μια τέτοια κρίσης καθώς και η δημιουργία δράσεων και θετικών παραδειγμάτων που θα συνεισφέρουν στην αντιμετώπιση των συνεπειών αλλά και την υποστήριξη των προσφύγων.
Από τις 16 έως 30 Ιουλίου θα οργανωθεί στο Giessen της Γερμανίας η δεύτερη δράση του προγράμματος μια ανταλλαγή νέων ηλικίας 17-26 ετών και η ΕΛΙΞ αναζητά 5 από εσάς που ενδιαφέρονται να συμμετέχουν στο πρόγραμμα αυτό.

Participants: 26 young participants and youth leaders from Belgium (5); France (5); Greece (5), Germany (6); Turkey (5); Young people, young people with fewer opportunities, refugees and asylum-seekers
Venue: Petrusgemeinde Giessen in cooperation with local protestant parish “Petrusgemeinde” and local reception center for asylum seekers (HEAE)

Participation fee: 80 Euro (Belgium, France, Germany), 40 Euro (Greece, Turkey)

Conditions Participant’s should be:
- Age 17-26
- interested in European asylum policies/practices and peace issues
- ready to establish positive contact with refugees
- able to follow a conversation in English
- actively a. constructively involved in all parts of the programme incl. preparation and follow-up
AIMS
- getting to know the situation of asylum-seekers in Europe and Germany
- to learn about trainings for empowerment and conflict resolution
- to come in close contact with real life of refugees and act in solidarity
- to learn about different institutions working to support refugees
- to share experience with participants from all over Europe and think about how to build a welcoming society for refugees
PROGRAMME SUMMARY:
This exchange is carried out in cooperation with a local protestant church community “Petrusgemeinde” which organizes counseling, educational and leisure time activities for groups of refugees who have just arrived in Germany. Most of the refugees are from countries such as Afghanistan, Syria and Pakistan. We will also cooperate with the “Reception Center for Refugees of the Federal State Hessen” (HEAE Hessische Erstaufnahme Einrichtung).
Groups of 5 young people from 5 countries (Belgium, France, Germany, Greek and Turkey will meet and learn about the concept “Friedensstifter (young people become agents of peace)” and about methods of empowerment with sensitive groups. The concept is used in school and non-school educational institutions. We have successfully implemented the concept in some ICJA workcamps and got positive feedback from participants. The methodology is based on a set of exercises related to different aspects of violence, conflict and conflict resolution in groups.
Beside the pedagogical working units there will be a direct exposure to the situation of refugees in Germany: Participants will be invited to visit refugees in their accommodation and to organize leisure time activities with them. They can get in contact with the residents of the Refugee Reception Centre and can learn about their life stories, difficulties and perspectives. In addition we will make excursions to visit and learn from institutions that support and counsel refugees like the refugee law clinic and an institution for trauma therapy. Group and plenary discussions will be held on immigration and asylum policies of the EU member states and Turkey and how these are affecting the situation of asylum seekers and peace and unity.
Finally we will try to find creative answers to the question “what does it mean to be a refugee welcoming society?” We will visualize our opinions and make statements of solidarity with refugees in creative workshops such as visual arts, photo, video, forum theatre, music workshops.
In the weekend there will be the possibility to visit the historical center of Marburg or Frankfurt.
Venue:
The Asylum Centre for asylum seekers in Hessen is located at the edge of the city Giessen. There are currently about 1 500 asylum-seekers, most of them are from Afghanistan, Syria and Pakistan: Young men, women, children and older people. Refugees live in very basic conditions, at this spot they have to wait for appointment of their first hearing procedure.
The youth exchange will be hosted by a local protestant church which is involved in working with the refugees since long time. The premises of the church are plentiful and volunteers will have a lot of space for sleeping, cooking, dining, relaxing, and for indoor and outdoor activities.
Giessen, a city populated with lots of students is located in the mid-west of Germany. It is easy to reach via Frankfurt airport or Frankfurt Hahn airport.
Remarks:
Accommodation of participants will be offered in classrooms of a primary school nearby the protestant parish. Meals will be prepared in the big kitchen of the parish. Info-sheet with travel directions and detailed programme will be sent at least one month before the start of the camp.
Υπόλοιπα Οικονομικά Στοιχεία
Το κόστος μετακινήσεων επιστρέφεται στους συμμετέχοντες μετά από την ολοκλήρωση του προγράμματος και αφού έχουν καταθέσει τα απαραίτητα χαρτιά (αποδείξεις, εισιτήρια, boarding pass, κλπ…). Σύμφωνα με τους νέους όρους του προγράμματος Erasmus+ και σύμφωνα με την χιλιομετρική απόσταση το ποσό επιστροφής είναι μέχρι 170€(*) για κάθε συμμετέχοντα.
*(It means that if you have a budget of 170€ and you spend 160€, you will receive all 160€, and in this case will be the 100% of the travel. Otherwise for example, if you spend 250€ with a budget of 170€, we will reimburse you up to 170€.)
Η διαμονή και η διατροφή των συμμετεχόντων καλύπτεται πλήρως από το πρόγραμμα.
Το ποσό συμμετοχής προς την ΕΛΙΞ είναι 60€.
