ELIX, in cooperation with the Municipality of Athens and the programme Open Schools, is preparing a series of 2 week workshops on ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION for primary school children (ages 6-12).
In this workshop, we will discuss with the children what "environmental education" is as well as our role in the protection of the planet, paying especially attention to waste managing and the concepts of REDUCING, REUSING and RECYCLING waste. We will develop these ideas through game-based activities, discussions, and handcrafts.
We are currently looking for volunteers to support these activities in the 106th municipal school in Goudi, Athens. The dates of the sessions will be:
- Tuesday, 31/01/2017 - 16:00 to 18:00 - 160ο Δημοτικό Σχολείο στο ΓΟΥΔΙ
- Tuesday, 02/02/2017 - 16:00 to 18:00 - 160ο Δημοτικό Σχολείο στο ΓΟΥΔΙ
Before these dates, we will need to meet at ELIX office (proposed date Monday, 30/01/2017, 17:30) to go through the planned activities and organisation
Note: The workshop will be held in Greek language but English is needed for communication with ELIX staff.
The tasks of the volunteers will be the following:
- Take part in the meeting at ELIX office to discuss the activities
- Be present at both sessions from 15:30 to 18:15
- Help parents fill in registration forms
- Moderate and take part in the activities
- Ensure the participation and wellbeing of the children
