The project ISLAS CIESis unique in its type: volunteers will have the opportunity to live in an Island in Northwestern Spain, in the area of Galicia. They will do maintenance work in the surroundings of the island; help in fire prevention and in cleaning seaweed. Volunteers will also participate in informative activities for tourists; help physically disabled visitors; and cooperate with the environmental Service of the National Park. This environmental project will give you the opportunity to work in a natural park where you will perform tasks that probably you have never tried in your life, for example participating in a dry stone workshop; recovering crop walls and traditional constructions; creating nest boxes for nocturnal raptors and place them in the natural environment; creating unique habitats for fauna. If you like the idea, do not hesitate and apply for this workcamp which is also located in Chera, a small town, in the interior of the province of Valencia. Immersed in an enveloping tranquility and quiet, the village is surrounded by steep peaks of up to 1,176 m.
6. SVINC03-19, BERTIZ NATURAL PARK, Pamplona, ENVI, 16/07/19 - 30/07/19, 18-26.
The workcamp will take place in the Natural Park Senorio de Bertiz. Working in open nature will allow you to enjoy this rural area in the freshness of the Pyrenean valleys. The accommodation will be in a house inside the Park, where you will enjoy the natural environment and the summer entertainment of the streets of Baztan villages during your free time. The place is located between mountains, in a Natural Park, in the Baztan Valley, in the northern area of Navarra adjoining the French border. Nearby there are the beaches of San Sebastian or Biarritz. The work of the young volunteers will be pruning hedges, maintaining trails, painting some fences and removing invasive exotic plants.

Crusco Jazz was born in 2015 thanks to a group of young creative people who wanted to bring together traditions, art, good music, local food and show the world the beauty of their town and the Basilicata region. Musicians and artists arrive from all over Italy, they play in every corner of the town: from small square to the castles tower. Emerging artists will display their works on the walls of the old 12th century houses, delicious flavours of local foods will fill the streets. With Crusco Jazz organizers want to demolish borders and prejudices among generations, cultures and nationalities through arts and music. Volunteers will be welcomed by the organizers and their families. They will be involved in every phase of the festival and will also have a chance to perform themselves. Brienza is a small village surrounded by mountains and crossed by two rivers, a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. The 12th century castle, where the festival takes place, offers a breathtaking view on the town and the mountains. Maratea, with its serene beaches; Matera (UNESCO site and European capital of Culture of 2019) and a lot of other places, only a couple of hours away from Brienza.

A project perfect for mountain lovers and hikers, willing to make paths well visible and practicable, in an area of stunning beauty, the Heart of Dolomites, one of the main access points to the Dolomites mountain range (UNESCO World heritage site).
9. LEG09, DISCOVERING THE HISTORY IN ROSCIGNO, ROSCIGNO (SALERNO), ENVI RENO, 01/08/19 - 12/08/19, 18-99.
If you are interested in nature, ecology and history, have a look at this workcamp located in the South of Italy and particularly in Roscigno, in the province of Salerno, Cilento. Roscigno has an old village called Roscigno Old town, named the “Pompei of 1900”, which has a rural architecture, made of low houses of rocks, small streets and a main square. Volunteers will help to restore green areas, clean paths, paint and repair fences. The aim of the project is to make the areas pleasant and welcoming to the flow of tourists and history lovers.
10. LEG12, VILLETTA SOCIAL LAB, Roma, RENO ENVI, 10/07/19 - 24/07/19, 18-75.
A project located in Rome and focused on completing the renovation works that involve Villetta Social Lab, a space founded in 2015 in the Villetta a Garbatella. The project is an incubator of initiatives and practices of mutualism, participation and sharing, aimed at improving the life of the inhabitants of the neighborhood, but not only. It aims at becoming a center of social and cultural animation of the territory and a laboratory of ideas.
11. LEG13, ENVIRONMENT AND LEGALITY AT VESUVIO NATIONAL PARK, Parco Nazionale, ENVI SOCI, 22/07/19 - 04/08/19, 18-75.
This both environmental and social project will give you the opportunity to support Ottaviano Legambiente, a local association committed to fight against illegality spread on the territory of Vesuvius, managing to achieve important results like the closure of garbage dumps located in the National Park. Volunteers will be engaged in the maintenance of the properties confiscated by local authorities and that are no longer under the control of mafia. Moreover, volunteers will be involved in other social activities for awareness about legality and biodiversity carried on by the local group. There will also be a study part in which the volunteers will meet the members of the association, relatives of victims of crime, members of other associations, with the aim to explain the link between the territory always exposed to lawlessness and the fight for the exploitation of the landscape.

12. W4U-05, SOLOVKI BOTANICAL GARDEN, Solovetsky Archipelago, RENO ENVI, 16/08/19 - 01/09/19, 18-99.
This project is organized in cooperation with Solovki State Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve, which is well-known, due to Solovetsky Monastery. The project aims at assisting in preservation of the World Heritage site by doing environmental physical work at the Botanical Garden that is a part of the Solovki heritage. Volunteers themselves will learn about history and uniqueness of the Solovetsky Islands Ensemble and help enrich biodiversity of the Islands ecosystem. During the project volunteers will work at the Botanical Garden founded by the monks in 1822. Volunteers will first meet in Saint Petersburgh and will go all together to the island. The Solovetsky archipelago consists of six islands in the western part of the White Sea less than 100 miles south of the Arctic Circle. (read Kostas experience at the same project)

Volunteers will work with Bademler Village Culture and Art Association to raise awareness on intercultural dialog and solidarity. In this workcamp, the volunteers will build a walking trail and a running trail in order to support sports and healthy life, and place fitness equipment next to the trails they build where the public could do sports freely. The volunteers will assist professional workers throughout the workcamp. The walking and the running trails will be built in a timberland. Bademler Village linked to Yzmir, in the West region of Turkey. There will be a festival during the workcamp in Bademler, and volunteers will have the chance to participate and enjoy. This village is also famous for its typical wedding ceremonies and for the ‘Sea Festival’ where the entire village goes to the seaside and spends one or two days under tents.

This unique project is very interesting in terms of culture and nature, because the environment is characterized by arctic nature and three Lappish cultures: Inari Sami, North Sami and Skolt Sami. Moreover, the proximity of the Arctic Ocean in Norway and Russia are emphasized. Vasatokka is located amidst incredible lake scenery on the shores of Lake Muddusjrvi, near the wild area of Muotkatunturi and of the recreation area of Inari. The volunteers will do a variety of tasks with forestry and nearby surroundings, such as marking nature trails and doing small repairs. There might also be other work, such as landscaping and cutting firewood.

Delve into the history and charm of Bassoues, a fortified medieval village in the heart of the Gascogne countryside. Near the birthplace of the famous D’Artagnan, Bassoues is surrounded by ramparts and brings ancient myths into reality. You will be awestruck by the 43-meter high, splendidly-preserved donjon at the village entrance, which dates from 1371. The whole municipality of Bassoues is listed as a Historical Monument: a perfect place for nature lovers and history buffs alike. You are going to clean parts of the fortification walls of the village. You will also participate in maintaining the permaculture garden and take part in a citizen day in the village (watering the plants of the village, cleaning a street...). From Bassoues, the region of Gers is all yours. This small, charming town is on the road of ancient fortified villages, close to the lake of Lupiac and the city of Auch. Marciac, a city famous for its international jazz festival, "Jazz in Marciac", is also nearby. In Bassoues, you’ll have the chance to discover the most delicious culinary specialities, hiking paths to castles and fortified towns, and medieval villages. Multiple cultural and sports activities will be available like the medieval festival of Lupiac or the associative bar nearby Baccarisse with its concerts, theatre plays, and festival "Montesquiou on the rock".
16. SJ83, A SHARED GARDEN ON THE BASTIDES ROAD, Salvagnac, RENO ENVI, 04/07/19 - 25/07/19, 18-90.
Right on the top of the hill, you will be welcomed by the two impressive towers of Salvagnac’s medieval castle, last pieces of their great medieval period, and by the astonishing view from there. It’s at the heart of this little village that you will take part in the renovation of the new shared gardens, an initiative led by the community since 2012 et which is very popular among the population. You will closely work with the local associations whilst learning new skills, and discover intercultural and intergenerational diversity. With around you a beautiful view on the countryside, you will clear the piece of land, install a fence and you will restore the roof and the door of a little shack in bricks which will be the future cozy meeting point of the gardeners.
17. SJ19 AN ABANDONED VILLAGE IN THE HEART OF LIMOUSINI, Grandsaigne, ENVI, 01/07/19 - 21/07/19, 18-90.
This project is for nature lovers who want to experience living without electricity, running water, crowds, who just want to be immersed in the environment and to listen to the sound of nature. Volunteers will be in an abandoned village hidden in the woods, with thatched roofs and old stones, a chapel, a rock for meditation. Here, they will be involved in the reopening of a hiking path and design walking and nature trails from Cledat. During the same period, the tiny village organizes a nature festival during one week; where hiking, meditation, songs, and crafts workshop are planned.

Ιf you are a creative young person who would like to perform (graffiti, music, skating, open stage) and bring in your own ideas in a project, this is the workcamp for you! Indeed, you will participate in renovation and environmental work, but you will also part of the international festival taking place on July 14th. The project will take place in Illertissen, a very nice town in Bavaria.
19. NIG05 PEENEMENDE II, Peenemuende island, ENVI, 01/07/19 - 21/07/19, 18-26.
This workcamp is for nature lovers, since activities will be mainly outdoors. The volunteers will work in a natural park on the island Usedom located in the Baltic Sea. Typical of the region are salt and orchid meadows. Since it is not possible to use common agriculture techniques, volunteers have to do everything manually. Moreover, every meadow around has to be cut and the grass has to be put aside. The aim of this project is to help to protect this unique reserve through your contribution. In the free time, you will participate in excursions, short trips to nearby towns, and you will be able to go swimming.

If you want to go to Japan and to help preserve natural biodiversity, have a look at this workcamp, located in Onuma, in Nanae town in the southern Hokkaido island. Volunteers will work in the forest (removing some alien conifer trees that disturb growth of other plants and animals, maintain the foot paths, etc; put many small stones on the shores of the small island in the lake to protect them from the waves caused by the motor boats; help to run the lake festival and possibly promote to use eco sponges with which you can wash most of the dishes without using detergent.
21. CIEEJ1906 MIMASAKA INTERNATIONAL CULTURAL EXCHANGE AND HOMES, Mimasaka, Okaya, ENVI, 30/07/19 - 12/08/19, 18-25.
In this project you will do environmental work, but not only! Volunteer will join cultural exchange activities with local volunteers of MIEA (Mimasaka International Exchange Association), as well as some environmental work for the city. Other activities will be: Presentation of meals of your home country- Attending International Youth program - Experiencing Japanese culture, like KABUKI, a classical Japanese dance-drama - Helping cooking class in English and classes of English and other languages - Pruning trees of hydrangea. The workcamp is located in Mimasaka, in the western part of the mainland of Japan and it is famous for beautiful landscapes and hot springs.

Participate with everyone in the garden and construction workshops. This workcamp takes place, on site, at Citrus association, in the beautiful village of Laguepie in between two rivers. For the past ten years, we have been renovating an old farm with the help of many teenager workcamps and the involvement of local and international volunteers. You will be fully involved in this ongoing project, through building and artistic construction.

This is a project for nature lovers who would like to protect the environment of one of the most popular cities on the Costa Blanca, Calpe. Volunteers will clean up a natural park located close to the Salinas (a lake in the center of Calpe). They will collect rubbish and send it to recycle. Local authorities have tried to clean it with machinery, but since it is a delicate area with its own microorganisms, the correct way to clean is by hand. Volunteers will also do other tasks, such as cleaning the trashes of the park; creating a vegetable garden; preparing ecological soaps, etc. You might have the chance to see flamingos, since 300 flamingos are usually cooling their feet in Calpe, and they break their onward journeys at the Salinas.

The project RURAL TEAM is a workcamp where volunteers will do environmental work in a place located 80 km away from Madrid which will become a new natural and agricultural reserve. Camping Monte Holiday is trying to create a complex of agronomy, pasturage and farming, protection of local fauna, tourism and education. Volunteers will help with a variety of tasks (cleaning and maintaining ecological gardens and hives, discovery of natural springs, etc.) and will prepare environmental workshops and games in English for local children in the afternoons, for one or two hours. The project includes two nights in Madrid. Under the supervision of an adult volunteer, participants will be able to explore the city and to visit the Prado Museum.

In an area one hour from Venice, volunteers will discover nature and slow tourism, while biking around the forest and carrying out its maintenance through activities, such as cutting herbaceous and shrubby plants; collecting garbage; creating a signpost for bike lanes. Volunteers will also learn about biodiversity of the fauna and flora of San Stino’s forest and its river, under the guide of a biologist. Furthermore, they will be involved in promoting events related to local bicycle tourism. Some technicians and environmental guides will be engaged in developing study projects regarding slow mobility with the volunteers.

The project is taking place in Vicchio, 35 km far from Florence, at Aiasanta, a farm which belongs to the non-profit association Le C.A.S.E. which is run by a few families who live together as a community, in a sober style. Aiasanta is one of the two centers that since 2008 has been hosting migrants from foster-homes or asylum seeking. The adults of the families have a job outside the community but they also offer voluntary work in the centers to renovate buildings, to run the farm or the migrants’ reception. Activities include: organic farming, training and experimentation on responsible and sustainable life styles. Volunteers’ activities will be various and will include gardening, wood chopping, fence maintenance, stable cleaning, work in the vineyard, common space cleaning, maintenance of shutters, windows and furniture, wall painting, flooring. There will be cooking workshops (pizza and local typical dishes), discussions on ethical finance and social economy, and lovely activities in free time.

This project will give you the opportunity to live in a stunning natural area in the North of Italy, and to support the organization which runs the Idro-Ecomuseum of Ridracoli waters, inside the National Park of Casentinesi Forests. Since its foundation, the Ecomuseum, devoted itself to raising awareness of the importance of sustainable use of water, in order to prevent waste. Volunteers will be engaged in environmental activities under local operators’ supervision in Parco delle Foreste Casentinesi, for instance rubbish collection along the marked tracks; maintenance of pathways and of the Botanic Garden, etc.
29. LUNAR 09, BIOWORLD, Montopoli in Sa, 27/06/19 - 09/07/19, 15-17, extra fee 200 euro.
A beautiful project in central Italy, in the middle of nature of Sabina area where the local association Colle della Mora set up a project of alternative agriculture, aimed at developing social initiatives focused on bio-building. Volunteers will support the association in the construction of a wall with the use of natural materials; and in recollecting cherries and other fruit .
