Η ΕΛΙΞ, με την ευκαιρία της 100ής επετείου του πρώτου Παγκοσμίου Πολέμου, είναι εταίρος του προγράμματος ανταλλαγής νέων με τίτλο "Acting for Peace", με θέμα την ευρωπαϊκή ιστορία και την προώθηση της ειρήνης, του διαπολιτισμικού διαλόγου και της ευρωπαϊκής ιθαγένειας.
Το πρόγραμμα, διάρκειας 10 ημερών, φιλοξενείται από την οργάνωση Concordia και η ΕΛΙΞ αναζητά 4 συμμετέχοντες ηλικίας 18 έως 30 ετών και έναν/μια αρχηγό ηλικίας 18+ προκειμένου να συμμετέχουν στο πρόγραμμα που θα πραγματοποιηθεί από τις 20 έως τις 29 Αυγούστου 2018 στην Γαλλία στο, Tracy-Le-Mont, ένα χωριό κρυμμένο στο δάσος, 20 χλμ. μακριά από το Compiegne και 110 χλμ. από το Παρίσι.
H/O αρχηγός/επικεφαλής για την συγκεκριμένη ανταλλαγή νέων θα πρέπει να μπορεί να συμμετέχει στην προπαρασκευαστική συνάντηση (APV - Advance Plan Visit), που θα πραγματοποιηθεί στην Γαλλία, 19 -22 Ιουλίου 2018.

Participants’ profile
Young people aged 18 to 30 years old. Participants need to be interested in history and theater. They need to be able to express themselves by using body language and by speaking English.
Leader’s profile
The group leader must be at least 18-years old, should have past experiences in mobility projects framework and in non-formal education. He/she must be ready to accompany the group in each step of the youth exchange (from preparation to final evaluation on the way back). The leader must speak English.
About the hosting organization
Concordia is a non-formal organization which promotes intercultural exchanges.
Our traditional activities are international workcamps, whose main goals are to allow participants to become open-minded and develop non-formal skills, such as autonomy and self-confidence, by meeting and living during few weeks with people from all over the world from different cultural and social background.
The current context, with the rise of islamophobia in Europe and in France and the fear of others, is pushing us to reaffirm our values of tolerance and peace and to take position in politics and public life through our commitment in different movements.
Concordia Picardie has been leading several projects on the First World War, especially two youth exchanges: “Follow the Trails” in 2014 where participants followed the journey of the poet Blaise Cendrars during WWI by riding bicycles and stopping where he stopped; and “War & Trees” in 2016 in which participants talked about war impact on environment.
Furthermore, 2018 will mark the 100th anniversary of WWI and it is really important to commemorate it. We hope that young people will be motivated to tackle these issues with us, confront our points of view and make this Youth Exchange the most fascinating we can as one more step for youth empowerment!
About the project
In 2018 the 100th anniversary of the First World War will take place. On the 28th of July 1914, a war started in Europe and it involved lots of countries around the world. The first World War led to huge modifications in European States societies and set the stage for totalitarian conflicts and ideologies. Around 30 million of people suffered from this catastrophe.
Even if painful, the memories of the twentieth century disasters remind us that the future of Europe resides in European identity. The development of a European conscience and the topic of a collective memory have crucial importance, even more for young generations who never experienced war and its consequences.
Objectives
- promoting peace and intercultural meetings
- sensitizing about European citizenship and European History
- performing a play, in order to commemorate the 100th anniversary
- strengthening mutual understanding between young people from different countries
- allowing young people to be open-minded and develop their self-confidence through artistic workshops
- encouraging a reflection about WWI and promoting memories from different countries
Activities
During the exchange we will insist on interculturality and the discovery of the other, which means sharing our knowledge, opinions and culture, especially during intercultural evenings. These evenings will be dedicated to discovering different countries with food cooked by participants, games and music. This project will also enable participants to improve their English, but they will also be able to share their native languages with the others.
We planned different types of activities, so that participants will have a very diverse and enriching experience. Our topics being wars and theatre, we will take advantage of our geographical situation, in order to visit the Armistice museum in Compiègne, a major visit considered the topic of the exchange. We will also visit several cities and villages hit by wars.
Reflection times are also planned, since they will allow participants to share their knowledge and to listen to testimonies who will bring new information to them. Participants will also attend workshops to accomplish various goals, such as organizing a final theatrical representation based on writings of a "poilus" (informal term for a French World War I infantryman) of WW1.
Concordia uses popular education tools, especially the so-called peer to peer learning. We would like that participants were eager to share their knowledge, cultures, differences and similarities, in order for this exchange to have intercultural dimension.
Expected results
Throughout the project participants will be accompanied to create a play about the First World War with letters, poems and logbooks from soldiers of different partner countries. This play will be performed in an area associated with the First World War and open to those who want to come and see it (other organizations, local people, etc.)
Methodology
The methodology (non-formal education, meetings with professionals, discussions) and the structure of the exchange will encourage the active involvement of each participant, in order for him/her to develop competences and new tools for personal and social development. Non-formal education tools will be used to create a friendly and attentive atmosphere, considering each participant in his or her diversity, personality and culture, so that each person will feel free to express him(her)self, share his or her experiences, and teach and learn from others. Artistic workshops will give young participants the chance to discover new ways of expression, encourage their creativity and ability to create collectively, and develop their self-confidence.
Location
You’ll be hosted in Tracy-Le-Mont, 20 km away from Compiegne and 110 km from Paris. Tracy le Mont is located at the heart of the Laigue forest, near Compiègne, Noyon and Pierrefonds and its fortified castle. It's a village of more than a thousand inhabitants, hidden in the forest. Concordia has a sort of historic partnership with Tracy le Mont, since this year it will be the 10th project that we have implemented in this village.
Accommodation

You will sleep in tents of 2 people; you can use the village hall with an equipped kitchen (oven, dishwasher..) for your daily needs. Showers will be in the football stadium, a kilometer from your living area.
You will need to bring your own mattress or a floor mat, and one sleeping bag.

Το κόστος μετακινήσεων επιστρέφεται στους συμμετέχοντες μετά από την ολοκλήρωση του προγράμματος και αφού έχουν καταθέσει τα απαραίτητα χαρτιά (αποδείξεις, εισιτήρια, boarding pass, κλπ.…). Σύμφωνα με τους νέους όρους του προγράμματος Erasmus+ και σύμφωνα με την χιλιομετρική απόσταση το ποσό επιστροφής είναι μέχρι 275€(*) για κάθε συμμετέχοντα.
*(It means that if you have a budget of 275€ and you spend 200€, you will receive all 200€, and in this case it will be the 100% of the travel. Otherwise for example, if you spend 300€ with a budget of 275€, we will reimburse you up to 275€.)
Η διαμονή και η διατροφή των συμμετεχόντων καλύπτονται πλήρως από το πρόγραμμα.
Το ποσό συμμετοχής προς την ΕΛΙΞ είναι 50€.
