1. Rights of Migrant people, Refugees, and to Citizenship;
2. Rights on Gender,
3. Sexuality and Own Body;
4. Rights to Health, Housing and Food.
“YOUthWORKs for Peace” is the title of the follow up Training Course which is scheduled to take place in Athens, Greece from 4th until 11th of October 2016 (including travel days).
This Training Course will involve 25 participants who actively took part in the project “Young Activists for Peace – Welcome Refugees” and in other relevant youth exchanges and local activities with the aim to evaluate and assess the results of these but also to acquire further competences in peace building, conflict resolution and intercultural dialogue.
Objectives:
- To evaluate and assess their learning process from the activities they organized with young people and children during the summer of 2016,
- To learn more about the training concept “Young people as agents of peace” used in the youth exchanges 2016 and other concepts which deal with conflict resolution and peace building,
- To discover and practice innovative methods to be used in future youth work activities at local, national and international levels and adapting them to the participants own work contexts,
- To share tools and practices to promote intercultural dialogue and peace, focusing on key aspects of youth projects, such as project management, conflict management and inter-cultural learning,
- To reflect about how young people could be involved in voluntary service projects to support refugees (i.e. with EVS) and what would be the challenges and benefits of such projects,
- To jointly develop non formal learning activities for youth groups involving refugees and other sensitive groups of young people for summer 2017.
A variety of interactive methods and techniques will be used such as small/big group work, simulation exercises, debates, theoretical input and practical training sessions, excursions and project visits. Participants will have the opportunity to visit national organizations working in the front line with refugees and to better understand from firsthand their situation and the challenges they and the ones who support them have to face. Participants will have the chance to analyze the challenges and benefits of welcoming refugees in each participating country and for European Union as a whole.
Target group: participants, youth workers, youth leaders, coordinators and facilitators of the activities of the “Young Activists for Peace – Welcome Refugees” project.
